Daizip Privacy

Privacy policy

This policy explains information handling for Daizip and its product, download, and update pages, provided by DaisySoft. Applies to version 0.2.0 and later. Effective September 28, 2026.

Your files are processed on your Mac.

Daizip compresses and extracts files and folders you select locally. File contents, names, paths, and archive listings are not sent to the developer or external servers. The app has no account registration, advertising, behavioral tracking, analytics SDK, or automatic crash reporting.

1. Information stored on your Mac

App language (in supported versions), compression format and level, CPU usage, and update preferences are stored in the app settings on that Mac. Selected file lists and operation history are not saved for the next launch.

File size and modification times are used for archive processing and detecting changes to source files. Available disk space is checked before operations. Working copies and temporary files are cleaned up when an operation completes or is cancelled; an abnormal termination may leave temporary files. Original files and your output remain on your storage device.

Versions that remember folder access store macOS security-scoped bookmarks locally. These permission records are not sent to a server.

2. Update checks and downloads

The App Store edition does not connect to an update server itself and does not include Sparkle. Apple provides updates through the App Store. Apple’s processing is governed by Apple’s privacy policy.

The website edition uses Sparkle to check www.daisysoft.net for updates and download new versions. Automatic checking and installation can be configured in the Daizip menu.

These connections transmit basic HTTP request information, which may include IP address, access time, requested URL, and app or updater version. Archive source files, paths, device-unique identifiers, and optional system profiles are not sent. A manual update check or download still makes a connection when automatic checks are disabled.

3. Website and delivery services

Daizip web pages and download/update files are served over HTTPS using Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may process request information, including IP addresses, times, URLs, and User-Agent, to deliver content and secure the service. DaisySoft does not add separate user tracking or app analytics to Daizip. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy for its processing and log retention.

The Daizip app does not use advertising or analytics cookies. See Cloudflare’s cookie information for cookies that may be used by website delivery and security features.

4. Inquiries you send

If you email us, we use your sender address and the name, message, and attachments you provide to respond and investigate the issue. The app does not collect or send these materials automatically. Personal information and attachments received through support inquiries are deleted within 30 days after the inquiry is resolved.

Do not send original archives or passwords. Hide personal filenames and paths in screenshots. You may request access, correction, or deletion of materials you have sent by contacting us below.

5. Preferences and folder access

Use Forget Saved Folder Access in Daizip to remove remembered folder permissions. Reset Preferences restores personal app preferences to defaults and clears remembered folder permissions. These actions do not delete original files or output. Website-edition update preferences can be changed separately in the Daizip menu.
